In this web page, you will learn what about the South African people's transportation and background.

Background

Houses
- People with enough money live in big houses, usually in protected areas or with bars on the windows if they are in the city. But for the people with little money, they live in small houses, usually made up of metal pieces, wood, or anything they can find.

People- In South Africa, there are people from everywhere. They may come from some ancient tribes like Zulu or Xhosa. They may be born in another country somewhere else in the world.

Animals- In the cities or in the gated communities, there are only small animals. There can be little lizards, large spiders, and other kinds of insects. In the wilderness, bigger and more different ones can be seen with a guide. There are lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, rhinos, all sort of bucks, leopards, and a lot of other kinds.

Tribes- In South Africa, there are lots of tribes, that came from the original people that lived here. the most known are: the Zulu, the Ndebele, the Xhosa, the Pedi, the Sotho, the Tshwane.

Transportation

Buses
- Most people with little money use small buses to go from one place to another, usually driven by persons that don't respect the driving code. They drive quickly because the more passengers they have the more money they make. There are also big buses that are more formal, but only a few people take them.

Cars- More people prefer to use their cars to go to work or to their homes, because of the hazards of the buses. But even in their cars, a lot of people have accidents because they drive through stoplights or too fast.

Walking
- On the side of the roads, there are places to walk. Most people that don't have a car or not enough money for the bus or train, use these walkways to go home or to their work. Bike riders use them too sometimes instead of going on the roads, because of the dangerous cars.

of the Apartheid, a period of extreme racism.
