Jan The Mammoth Band-Aid When I was 11 years old, my parents rented an apartment at sea for two weeks. Because my two brothers and I were bored, my mom bought us three new skateboards. Because we never had had a skateboard before, it was really hard to ride on it. But after two days, I was used to the board and was already trying to do some little tricks.
When I was trying that, I saw two guys going really fast on their skateboard.
So I also tried to go that fast. My heart bounced extremely fast when I
pushed hard with my left foot. After some more pushes, I wanted to put
my left foot on the board, but it slipped off. Then my left foot hit the
ground and I fell on my knee. While I was lying on the ground, my brothers
were laughing at me. I got up slowly with a lot pain. I had to get to the
apartment on my own, because my brothers were still laughing at me. Luckily,
it was only five meters far and it had an elevator. When I arrived at the
fourth floor, I got out of the elevator and opened the apartment door.
I yelled really loud for my mom. She asked what happened and I told her
the story. After I told her the story, she told me to wash the wound with
soap. That is when I saw how big it was. It was about 10cm (4 inches) by
2.5 cm (1 inch). My mom gave me a mammoth Band-Aid. Although I had a Band-Aid
on my knee I couldn’t walk for a week because it still hurt a lot.
